Freja Løwe founded her namesake label while studying sustainable fashion design in Copenhagen. She never imagined herself contributing to the fast paced fashion industry, so she traveled to the opposite part of the planet to pursue a slower and more authentic way of creating textiles.

After having spent a year in Bali researching and learning about ancient techniques in natural dyes and handmade textiles, she is now working from her studio in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Freja wrote her BA thesis in Bali, on the topic of incorporating permaculture principles in the production of textiles. All processes in the studio therefore origins from a holistic approach to wisely choose materials, dyes, suppliers etc. with natures resources in mind.

Natural dyes extracted from plants has been the main focus since the beginning. After years of sticking to colours from nature, Freja found herself in need of more diverse and long lasting colours and certified organic dyes, is now the primary source of colours in the studio.

Through working with handwoven materials and honoring craftsmanship, Freja seeks to create aesthetically sustainable and durable designs made to last. To create alongside nature, in a resilient and fair way.
